Ram Gopal Varma urges stars to protest against Allu Arjun’s arrest

Ram Gopal Varma called on fellow celebrities to vocally protest against the arrest of Allu Arjun. He questioned if it is a crime for a celebrity to enjoy immense popularity. He highlighted a similar tragedy involving Sridevi, suggesting that celebrities should not be held accountable for incidents related to crowd control.

In his comments on Allu Arjun’s arrest following a woman’s death at the Pushpa 2 premiere, Varma stated, “Every STAR should STRONGLY protest against @alluarjun’s ARREST because for any celebrity, whether it’s a FILM STAR or a POLITICAL STAR, is it a crime for them to be ENORMOUSLY POPULAR?” He likened the situation to the Kshana Kshanam shoot, recalling that during the production, three people tragically lost their lives in a crowd drawn to see Sridevi. Varma provocatively asked, “So will the #TelanganaPolice now go to #HEAVEN to ARREST #sridevi?”

For context, Kshana Kshanam is a 1991 Telugu film that Varma wrote and directed. It featured Venkatesh alongside Sridevi, Paresh Rawal, and Rami Reddy.
